Distinctive detail

It looks powerful but refined. Classic, yet contemporary. Yet as we all know, in life, the devil is in the detail. And in the Mondeo that detail is purposeful and finely crafted.

Essential luxuries

Once you may have considered these features luxuries. Now they're not just what you expect in a car. They're also what you deserve.

Ford Mondeo Technology Features

SYNC2

Stay in touch with your world. Just say the words and SYNC2 keeps you connected, while your hands stay safely on the wheel and your eyes on the road. Make calls. Listen to text messages1. Control the interior climate and use satellite navigation. With a few simple words you're in total control of your Bluetooth® 2 phone. Music lover? Use voice commands to find and play your favourite music. Or let your fingers do the talking with the easy-to-navigate 8-inch touch screen. SYNC's Emergency Assistance gives you help when you need it most. SYNC2 automatically calls emergency services and gives your GPS co-ordinates if you're in an accident that causes your airbags to deploy or fuel pump to shut-off3

Enhanced Active Park Assist

Imagine. Perfect parallel parking without your hands ever touching the steering wheel. Enhanced Active Park Assist4 not only helps you find the right parking space, it steers you in. Perfectly. Put the car into gear. Take your hands off the wheel. All you have to do is work the accelerator and brake. It even steers you out of your park, hands-free.

Active City Stop6

When traffic is crawling along, it can be easy to miss someone suddenly stopping up front. In speeds of less than 40km/h5, Active City Stop detects if the car in front has unexpectedly stopped and automatically applies the brakes if you don't.

BLIS (Blind Spot Information System)4

It's a small thing but a very important one. Indicator lights in the side mirrors let you know when there's a vehicle in your blind spot when changing lanes. So you can see what you can't see.

Lane Keeping Aid6

By monitoring road markings, this system detects if you appear to unintentionally move out of your lane. If you do, your steering wheel will vibrate to warn you. If lane departure continues it will also direct you back into your lane by applying steering torque, unless your indicator is on.

Ford Mondeo Technology Features

Rear View Camera6

Reverse like you have eyes in the back of your head. Mondeo's Rear View Camera6 lets you clearly see what's behind you, while the beep of the rear parking sensors tells you how close you are. The system even automatically turns down your music so you can hear the beeps clearly.

MyKey®

Handing over the keys to the younger members of your family is a tough call. But MyKey makes sure that they'll drive as if you were in the car with them. You can program it to remind them to put on seat belts, limit their speed, keep their music volume down and concentrate on the drive, not their phone.

[5] Active City Stop may help avoid, or minimise the impact of a collision between speeds of 3.6 and 40km/h. It is not a substitute for driver alertness. Function may not operate in some driving and road conditions, or adverse weather.

Intuitive to you and the road

The 5-star ANCAP safety rating says it all. In the all-new Mondeo, prevention is just as important as protection. A system of airbags and rear inflatable seat belts protect while advanced sensor technology offers drivers a higher level of control in all kinds of situations.

Ford Mondeo Safety Features

Rear inflatable seat belts

These outer rear seatbelts provide extra protection for your passengers in the back. They distribute the force of an impact across a wider area of the torso and help support the head and neck. They also hold people in the correct seating position, which can help reduce the risk of injury in a front or side impact.

Airbags all-round

Knowing you’re surrounded by protection is a good feeling. With driver and passenger airbags, seat-mounted side airbags and one for the driver’s knee in the front, as well as side-curtain airbags for people in the front and back, that’s a lot of peace of mind.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)

The combination of Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control helps keep you connected to the road and in control, especially around corners and when overtaking. Together with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) they help reduce the chances of wheel spin, wheel lock and over- or under-steering.

Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection1

Designed to help you avoid front-end collision, the system uses radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a vehicle or pedestrian is detected, the system gives you a visual and audible warning. And if you don’t respond in time, your Mondeo brakes for you.

An unbeatable combination

An expensive-looking car shouldn’t be expensive to run. We give you the choice of two of our most fuel efficient and powerful engines and some of our smartest fuel saving technology. Add the driving dynamics that Ford is famous for and it’s a heady combination for any driver.

Ford Mondeo Performance Features

EcoBoost® Technology

Why does the combination of turbocharging, direct fuel injection and twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) in our 2.0L EcoBoost deliver more? This 4 cylinder petrol engine is smaller and lighter than its competitors so it delivers exceptional fuel economy, yet there is no compromise on power.

Duratorq technology

Our highly fuel-efficient 2.0L Duratorq diesel engine is a gutsy performer. Its turbocharged four cylinders deliver responsive power and torque that builds low in the rev range.

6-speed SelectShift with Paddle Shifters

Just because you want the ease of an automatic doesn’t mean you have to give up the thrill of driving a manual. With Paddle Shifters on the steering wheel, similar to those used by racing drivers, our SelectShift automatic transmission lets you shift through gears, smoothly and effortlessly, without having to use a clutch.

6-speed PowerShift

Quick and seamless delivery of power is a hallmark of our 6-speed PowerShift transmission. Its two clutches work in tandem to give you the ease of the automatic with the fuel efficiency of a manual.

EPAS

Stable, responsive steering is the hallmark of a quality drive. Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS) adjusts to feel lighter in slow traffic and ‘heavier’ at higher speeds for greater control. It also adapts to changing conditions, like cross winds, to keep you on track. But it only comes to your assistance when it’s needed, saving you fuel.

Adaptive Cruise Control3

Cruise Control is great on the open road. But, even here, you can find traffic. So instead of having to turn the system on and off, the Mondeo adapts. Sensors in scan the traffic ahead, updating their positions 20 times a second. If traffic slows, so does your speed. When the traffic clears, it returns to your pre-set speed.

Auto Start-Stop4

Think how much time your engine spends idling in heavy traffic or at lights. Then think how much fuel you could save if you switched it off every time. That’s what the Mondeo does automatically when you idle. Press the accelerator to go and the engine smoothly restarts, giving you a 4% to 10%5 improvement in your fuel efficiency.
