Smart technology makes our lives easier. The Ford Kuga is no exception. These available features make it easier to pack your car, park your car and use the technology you can’t do without, like your mobile phone.
The hands free power tailgate opens (and closes) with a wave of your foot under the bumper. Because chances are, if you’re putting things in the back you’ve probably got your hands full. It even adjusts to the height of your garage.
Just say the word. SYNC™2** does the rest. Use simple voice commands to make calls, play music, adjust interior climate, use satellite navigation, and even have text messages read aloud#. SYNC™2, also includes an 8-inch colour touchscreen,** a USB port, and Bluetooth* connectivity.
We've got your back. The reverse camera turns on automatically when you put your Ford Kuga into reverse, allowing you to see objects behind you, while the beep of the rear parking sensors tells you how close you are.
First it helps you find a parking spot that’s just the right fit. Then it virtually parallel parks itself. Put the car into reverse, take your hands off the wheel and watch it perfectly steer into a reverse park. All you have to do is work the accelerator and brake.
You don’t need to actually have your key in your hand to unlock your Ford Kuga Titanium, or start it, for that matter. As long as you have your key fob with you, your car will unlock1. Once you’re in the driver’s seat, simply put your foot on the brake pedal and press the start button.
When you drive a Ford Kuga, you’re supported by features that help you. In fast traffic. Slow traffic. And around corners.
Cruise Control is great on the open road. But, even here, you can find traffic. So instead of having to turn Cruise Control on and off, Adaptive Cruise Control adapts. If it senses traffic is slowing, it slows. When the traffic clears, it goes back to your pre-set speed.
When traffic is crawling along, it can be easy to miss someone suddenly stopping. In speeds of less than 30kph, Active City Stop detects if the car in front has unexpectedly stopped and automatically applies the brakes.
There may be times when you inadvertently drift into the next lane. The Lane Keeping Aid will direct you back into your lane by automatically applying steering torque unless, of course, your indicator is on.
It’s a small thing but a very important one. Indicator lights in the side mirrors can let you know if there’s a vehicle detected in your blind spot when changing lanes. So you can see what you can’t see.
#Warning: Local laws prohibit some or all of the text messaging functions while driving. Check your local road rules before using these functions.

Even in the routine of the everyday, we need to adapt. And your car is no different. It needs to change to accommodate who’s going, what you’re taking with you and which road, or off-road, is on the way.
This isn’t just any AWD1. Every 16 milliseconds the Ford Kuga adjusts the delivery of torque to each wheel, so you receive optimum cornering and traction.
Just drive it. Preferably on a road with the most twists and turns you can find. It’s the only way to truly appreciate how well the Ford Kuga handles. In corners, torque is automatically transferred to the wheels that have the most grip, so the front end hugs the inside of every bend. Under-steering is virtually eliminated.
There’s a lot of space in the back of the Ford Kuga. There’s even more when you start folding down the 60/40 split rear seats. Fold down one seat or the other and you can fit in those extra pieces of luggage and still get one or two passengers in the back. Fold both seats right down and your 406 litres of space becomes a very sizeable 1,603 litres. Some models also let you lower the boot floor height to give you even more storage space. So whatever space you need at any time, the Ford Kuga adapts.
Packing-up the family for a holiday? Going camping? Or, perhaps, glamping? Whatever your plans, the Ford Kuga lets you take what you need. Trailer Sway Control helps to keep both your Ford Kuga and your trailer on the same path. It determines if the trailer is swaying and applies braking or reduces engine torque where needed to help keep everything under control.
Hills are great for a view. But not that great when you want to drive off without rolling into the car behind you. So Hill Launch Assist holds the brake for up to 3 seconds after you take your foot off, giving you time to smoothly accelerate away. Whether you’re facing uphill or down.

That’s a given with EcoBoost technology. But so too is the power to put more time between you and your next visit to the fuel pump. Fuel-saving technology and design ensure every single drop of fuel takes you further. So you can drive more and refuel less.
EcoBoost engine technology turns traditional petrol engine thinking on its head. It delivers small engine fuel economy and big engine power in one. So you don’t have to compromise on either, thanks to an advanced combination of twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT), turbocharging and direct fuel injection technologies. Ford Kuga MkII offers you the choice of two EcoBoost engines; 110kW 1 in Ambiente or 178kW 1 in Trend and Titanium models. To fully enjoy the engine’s responsiveness, the ‘sport mode’ automatic transmission lets you switch to ‘manual mode’ so you can work the gears – without the clutch.
Our 2.0L TDCi diesel engine works with our 6-speed automatic transmission to deliver performance and fuel economy. Dual-clutch technology gives you the responsiveness of a manual with the ease of an automatic. It pre-selects the next gear so each change is so smooth it’s barely noticeable.
Another way we reduce aerodynamic drag is via the Active Grille Shutter. Located behind the grille, the shutter only opens when the engine needs cooling and closes when it doesn’t, so less air travels through the radiator. Less drag means less fuel is required to propel the car forward.

It’s important that you and your family feel safe in your car. The Ford Kuga incorporates some of the most advanced safety features available. Not only to help protect you. But to help prevent the need for protection in the first place.
The Ford Kuga’s system of next generation airbags surrounds you and your family with extra levels of protection. In the front seat, there are driver and passenger airbags and seat-mounted side airbags. There’s even one for the driver’s knee. Side-curtain airbags provide protection for people in the front and the back. Which is good for your peace of mind.
SYNC™ and SYNC™2** are there for you when you need it most. If you’re in an accident that deploys the airbags or activates the fuel pump shut off, Emergency Assistance uses your paired and in range mobile phone, to dial emergency services and provides them with your precise GPS coordinates.
** SYNC™2 available from Trend and Titanium models commencing production from November 2015.
